About Department

A separate Urdu department was introduced as an independent department in April 1999 due to a strong Urdu flavor in the region that had a rich presence of medieval rulers like the “Nizam Shahi” dynasty of Ahmednagar, Nizam of Hyderabad and the Mughal rulers in the 17th and 18th century.
