The department is catering to students from rural areas, aiming to make quality education accessible to a diverse demographic. The flagship program offered by the department is the Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Physics, with an approved intake of 30 students. The program is designed to impart students with a comprehensive understanding of theoretical and practical aspects of physics, preparing students for careers in research, academia, and industry. The M. Sc. Physics program offers two specializations in Electronics and Condensed Matter Physics, enabling students to tailor their education to specific areas of interest. These specializations align with current advancements in physics and prepare students for specialized roles in research, academia, and industry.

The department is equipped with modern research facilities for the nanomaterials synthesis and processing, including Magnetic Stirrers, Hot Plates, Weighing Balance, and a High-Temperature Furnace (1400 °C). These facilities support faculty and student research activities, encouraging exploration in the realms of materials science and beyond. These facilities support a wide range of research activities, particularly in the field of materials science, allowing faculty and students to engage in meaningful and impactful research.
