The department has a student-centric vision and is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and public outreach, serving the needs of today’s society. It provides a highly diverse and supportive environment where students can actively participate in training opportunities, excel in their studies, and gain hands-on research experience in Pali and Buddhism. A unique strength of the program is its emphasis on both basic and applied research. The faculty members are recognized for their effective teaching and for the remarkable number of students who have qualified for NET and NET-JRF.
Many students from this department are working as junior lecturers, assistant professors, and associate professors in various junior and senior colleges. Additionally, many students have passed the NET, while others have completed their Ph.D. programs, and some are currently pursuing their Ph.D. degrees. They are conducting high-quality and socially useful research, benefiting from fellowships provided by UGC, BARTI, Mahajyoti, and SARTHI.
