Eligibility

Eligibility for M.A.(Pali and Buddhism)

  1. First Preference- A candidate who has passed the Bachelor’s degree Examination in any Faculty in Compulsory Language/ second Language shall be eligible for admission to the M.A. Course in the respective language
  2. A candidate who has passed the bachelor’s degree examination in any of the faculties and who happens to be in any of the faculties and who happens to be Buddhist monk or has passed an examination recognized as equivalent thereto, in B. A. (Hons.) and 45% marks in B.A. (Pass) examination respectively with any one of Pali, Sanskrit, Prakrit, History, Ancient, Indian History and Asian Studies, Philosophy, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Linguistics and any of the Modern Indian Languages as elective or optional subjects may be held eligible for admission to M. A. (Pali) course. * Other subject student’s will have to complete bridge course of one semester duration which is mandatory.

  3. Second Preference- any UG Degree holder from any faculty can get admission by completing Concern subjects’ 6 months short term course or bridge Course or fundamental course in the department.

And

  1. A common Entrance Test (CET) will be conducted by the respective department of the University (The schedule and other details of CET will be declared separately.) The merit list for admission to postgraduate course will be prepared by the university departments. It will be based on the marks secured in the CET and the marks secured in the respective optional subject during the third or final year of their degree course (50% weightage will be given to the CET marks and the remaining 50% to the marks obtained in the relevant optional subject during final year of the degree program.)

Merit list of PG admission Course should be prepared by the authority of university department on the basis of students who have secured marks in CET examination only.
