About Department
The University Department of Physical Education is located in the inspiring natural surroundings of Shyadri ranges of mountains and in the Valley of Kham River. The Department has very fine and standardized play fields, stadium, Swimming Pool, Gymnasium Hall etc. This University identified in the field of Physical Education and Sports as University provide Outdoor facilities such as (Shooting, Basketball, Football, Cricket, Hockey, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho Volley ball and Hand ball etc.) Similarly the University provide indoor facilities for (Badminton, Table tennis, Fencing, Gymnastic, Chess Wrestling, Judo, Power Lifting and Body building, etc). For Boys and Girls for Participating at Inter Collegiate, Inter University, All India Inter University and National Competitions. The University Participating players have exhibited exceptional skills in Gymnastics, Athletics, Pistol shooting, Fencing, Basketball, Judo, Wrestling, Kabaddi, Football, Kho-Kho, Hockey, Cricket, Badminton, Power Lifting, Weight Lifting, Body Building etc. majority of players have achieved distinction at the various levels of competition such as Inter University, All India Inter University and National level. The Department has also made residential arrangements for players near the play fields. Thus the facilities provided by the Department are so well planned that sports culture is shared both by citizens and students in the region as well. The infrastructural development is getting a new shape due to proper support by the University administration and Government authorities as well.
The programs offered by the department are M. P. Ed and Ph. D. The Department started M.P. Ed. Course from 1980-81. The intake capacity presently is 20 students.
