Gopinathrao Munde National Institute of Rural Development & Research

The establishment of Gopinathrao Munde National Institute of Rural Development & Research by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, as a constituent institute is mile stone in the history of higher education in Marathwada. Late Gopinathrao Munde is well known as a vibrant political leader having clear vision about Soci-cultural development of Farmers, agricultural labour, Sugarcane cutters, dalit, adiwasi, poor and under privileged class of the society. He devoted his whole life for bringing the dignity of life among the neglected communities in the society. He had played predominant role in state legislative assemble as well as in parliament to focus the polity towards the problems of rural & backward communities.

The establishment of Gopinathrao Munde National Institute of Rural Development & Research ia a visionary action for institutionalization of the vision of Late Gopinathrao Munde regarding the transformation of rural and under privileged communities livelihood through applied research & skill based higher education in India.

Vision

GMNIRD will be the global centre to experiment, transfer and disseminate technology & knowledge and the centre innovations & interventions for enhancement of Quality of Life of rural India in specific and globally.

Mission

The institute is committed to provide services through formal/informal education & training in the domains of rural development, conduct research, transfer appropriate technology, provide business and finance platform/support (through government & non-government organizations) and act as an facilitating agency for implementation and monitoring of government schemes and programs/projects. The campus will have “Model Village” replicating the modern rural India.

• To conduct research and Advance academic Programs in Rural Development.
• To enhance rural entrepreneurship and skill development.
• To provide training to farmers, community, field workers, Panchyat raj, NGOs and government officials/administrators
• To promote agro-products , agro-processing and rural industries and transfer of technology
• To Develop Model Village (in line with GoM policy of Department of Rural development and Shyamlal Mukharjee Rurban Mission) replicating the modern rural India.
