Professor Prashant S.Amrutkar

Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan is the present Governor of Maharashtra state of India. He took oath as the Governor on 31 July 2024.

The Governor’s Secretariat is headed by the Secretary to the Governor who is assisted by a team of officers and staff as per details available under the head organization. The Governor’s Secretariat includes the Secretariat and Household establishments.

Registrar

  • The Registrar is appointed by the Vice-Chancellor based on a selection committee's recommendation. If the post remains vacant for six months, the State Government appoints a suitable person on deputation for up to three years or until the new Registrar is appointed.
  • The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the university, a full-time salaried officer, working directly under the Vice-Chancellor's supervision.
  • The Registrar’s term is five years, with eligibility for one reappointment of another five years. Qualifications and experience are determined by the University Grants Commission and approved by the State Government.
  • If the Registrar is unable to perform duties for up to six months, the Vice-Chancellor will appoint an interim Registrar.
  • The Registrar serves as Secretary to the Senate, Management Council, Academic Council, and other university bodies or committees.
  • The Registrar is the appointing and disciplinary authority for university employees, except for teachers, non-vacation academic staff, and officers of certain ranks. Appeals can be made to the Vice-Chancellor within 30 days.
  • Subject to university authorities’ decisions, the Registrar can enter into agreements, sign documents, and authenticate records on behalf of the university.
  • The Registrar is the custodian of university records, the common seal, and other property assigned by the Management Council.
  • The Registrar organizes elections based on the Vice-Chancellor’s approved schedule.
  • The Registrar prepares and updates the Handbook of Statutes, Ordinances, and Regulations, and ensures it is available to university members.
  • The Registrar receives and considers complaints and suggestions for improving administration.
  • The Registrar exercises other powers and duties as prescribed by the Act or assigned by the Vice-Chancellor.
