About Department
The department of Computer Science and Information Technology was established in the year 1989. At present department is running Three Post Graduation Programs as M.Sc. Computer Science, M. Sc. Information Technology, M. Sc. Artificial Intelligence and One Ph.D. programs in Computer Science.
The strength of the department is Highly qualified and experienced faculty members. Most of the faculty members are known for their valuable contribution in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology at National and International Level. The Major research domain of the department are Speech Processing, Pattern Recognition, Image Processing & Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Networking, Human-Computer Interfacing, Software Engineering and Testing, Biometrics and Security, Data Mining and Warehousing, Knowledge Engineering ,Remote Sensing, GIS, Natural Language Processing, Biomedical Imaging, Machine Intelligence, Computational Psycholinguistics. The department is having 64 Research Scholars availing various fellowships like Endress+Hauser, AICTE-GATE Stipend, University Scholar Fellowship, BANRF, RGNF, MANF, SAP-BSR, SRGC,
Department is supported by University Grants Commission-Special Assistance Program, Department has already completed Ist Phase (2009-2014), and IInd Phase (2014-2019). Department is also supported under the Department of Science and Technology-Fund for Improvement of S & T Infrastructure. Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi in 2012 has sanctioned the reputed Srinivasa Ramanujan Geospatial Chair to the department to promote Research and Development in the frontier research areas related to Geospatial Science and Capacity Building and Training.
Total 16 Published and Two Granted Patents are on the account of the department. Around 174 Scopus index paper are published and 240+ Papers are published in UGC Approved Journals and 86 book Chapters /Conferences in the last Five years. At Present, the department is collaborating with Five different Academic and Industrial Institutions under MOUs at National and International Level.
The department is currently mobilizing a research grant of Rs. 3, 88, 04,252 /- through various Major and Minor research projects funded by University, UGC, DST, AICTE, and other government funding agencies.
