Department insights

History

The Department of Lifelong Learning & Extension established in the university since 1979 as per sanction of University grants commission New Delhi on fully funded by the UGC up to March 31st, 1997. State Govt. sanctioned recurring liability of the staff. Following changes of nomenclature has been made as per requirement of schemes.

Eradication of illiteracy order point No. 16 of the New 20 point programme (from 1/10/1983) Adult, Continuing Education and Extension (March 1982) Area Development approach plan (1986), Jan Shikshan Nilayam, Extension Education, Population Education and Mass programme for functional Literacy. Total Literacy campaign. June, 1992. Vision and Mission

Vision

To structure the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University to be an Epitome of Excellence by creating and imparting time responsive Quality Education to address Changing Scenario, keeping Research and Development at its core, for 'Anyone' at 'Anytime' and 'Anywhere'.

Mission
  • To extend knowledge and other institutional resources to the community and vice-versa.
  • To gain insight from a contact between knowledge resources and socio-cultural realities with the view of reflecting these in the entire curriculum system of higher education including teaching and research.

  • Career Advancement: Equip adult learners with the necessary skills and knowledge to advance in their current careers or transition to new career opportunities.
